To Area Teachers, Grades K - 12:

You and your students are invited to participate in the

21st Annual Geography Fair

Saturday November 17th, 2007 at Burnell Campus School, Bridgewater State College

The 2007 Fair  theme is:

“Asia: cultural and physical diversity”

This theme allows us to look at Asia as a fascinating continent with a great diversity of peoples and places. Students can explore the various elements of life in the different parts of Asia – its bustling cities, villages, ports, schools, music, languages, sports, industries, mountains, religions, rivers, etc. Students are asked to describe and explain a particular aspect of Asia that may help better understand this intriguing and surprising continent.

.

                   ****************************************

The Geography Fair is an opportunity for your students to display their maps, models, dioramas, etc.  Students will be required to illustrate the main topic while addressing the well known themes of geography. Student displays should address the Fair topic using the geographic perspective and by addressing some of the Fundamental Themes of Geography. Judging will be based on adherence to the Fair topic and geography themes, content and written explanation, visual presentation, the project map, and oral responses to judges’ questions. Set-up time in the Burnell Campus School will be between 8:15 and 9:00am and judging will be between 9:00 and 11:00am. Students must remain at their displays so that they can answer questions posed by the judges. The registration

form should be returned by November 9th. (Please copy this form as needed for projects that will be entered. Each exhibit should be submitted on a separate form).
