Social Studies:

A Geographic Look

 

You are invited

to participate in an exciting Seminar Series

 

The focus of this program is to look at the major themes of the History and Social Science Framework (History, Geography, Economics, and Civics & Government) grades 1-8,  through a geographic lens.  Workshops will focus on each topic and help teachers identify the geographic connections.

 

            Participants will be involved in focused workshops which will present hands-on activities, projects, literature and games for teachers to use in their classrooms.  Program participants will be introduced to an array of available teaching resources as they explore and appreciate the role of the geographic approach in understanding the major themes of social studies.

 

Dates & Times: Saturday February 9th and Saturday March 8th  2008 

8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Bridgewater State College   Campus Center – Council Chambers

 

Upon completion of  evaluation at the  second session, and attendance at both sessions, participants will be awarded 10 PDP’s.
